Is it just me, or are the overly strict rules of this board taking away from what could be an enjoyable place to discuss Dragonball Z?
OMFG
Something about Vegeta being one-dimensial sided or whatever shouldn't be discussed in a poll where you choose between 2 characters. Nothing else. End of story.

I'm moving the poll to Insane. Given the options available, the poll is obviously just an excuse to bash the rules rather than promote discussion.

The rule I find just idiotic is the put an "FA or FF" in front of what your showing people, don't really see the point but it doesent take much work so I don't care much..

..Th erules are absolutely fine. Laggy and other s are great MODS that enbforce the rules. Thats the difference between this and other forums. ENFORCERS
Read the rules, almost all of them are COMPLETELY necessary and worthwhile. All the MODs do is enforce those rules
I really only HATE one rule, and thats the cursing outside of insane rule.

If the rules are too strict I'm always happy to recommend going to the DBGTN mini-board...

no they aren't too strict. That's why there's an insane discussion board. Stop bitching.
And the not swearing outside of insane doesn't bother me too much...mostly because I only really post here anyway.

There a lot stricter for new members or members that people generally dont like, than they are for the old ones thats for sure.

I think that the rules are fine, but there is one thing I despise about this forum.
If a newbie comes in and double posts, everyone gets really mad at him. If an old-timer that is liked on the forum double posts, no one seems to notice. So I think that the rules are fine, but the mods should try to keep the punishments equal, no matter how much the person that is getting the punishment is hated/liked.
The fact that this doesn't happen is what bothers me.

The reason people instantly correct a newcomer is because they're not nearly as familiar with the rules, and they haven't yet built up credibility. If someone new comes in and begins breaking numerous minor rules, then we're going to be lead to believe they'll continue to repeat those actions in the future. With veteran members, we know them and we know their habits. If they break a rule here and there we know that it won't be a habit.
