Anyone here at SC like comic books besides myself? I figured I'd bring it up because I'm always interested in reading new titles and I want to read people's take on different books. Also, if you do read comics, what titles do you read? Do you read mainly Marvel, DC, or some other publisher?

I was actually waiting for someone to make this topic. I love comic books. My dad has about 500 or so. so i read all those + I currently read Ultimate Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-man.

Either of you ever read the new Captain Marvel series? That's the title that brought me into the comic world. See, I'm pretty much a newb, but I'm trying to read quite a few titles at a time so I've got something to talk about. Right now I'm in the middle of collecting the TPBs for Captain Marvel, Captain America (the current volume), the Incredible Hulk (Bruce Jones' run), the Mighty Thor, and Nightwing. Since I'm on a limited budget I haven't got much to show for my efforts, but I'm getting there.

Comics are one of my hobbies. I used to spend anywhere from $5-$25 a week, and that got expensive fast, so I cut back. Right now I follow The Incredible Hulk, and pick up a few others depending on who's writing, doing the art, etc. New X-Men, Ultimate X-Men, Wolverine, and a couple others are the only ones I buy single issues for. With Marvel's increased trade policy I try to wait and get the collected forms. I'm really hoping DC gets the ball rolling with their trades, because I want Superman: Red Sun, missed the first issue. :(, and Batman: Hush.

Have you had any problems with Bruce Jones' run on the Hulk. A lot of people over at comicboards.com bad-mouth him constantly because of the lack of Hulk appearances. I like action to, but I like the story Jones is creating. Sometimes it's nice to read an actual story for once rather than having the Hulk destroy everything in sight.

Hmm...It seems no one likes Spider-Man except for me. Oh well...

I like Spider-man, and used to collect Ultimate Spider-man all the time. However its a series I've gone trade on.

I haven't had a problem with Jones' run on the Hulk. Its much more intellegent and involved than most comics, especially in the history of the Hulk. Its also reminscent(sp?) of the old TV show, with Banner on the run, and the Hulk showing up when he's needed. I can't wait to hit the shop tomorrow and pick up the new issue.

I'm desperately trying to catch up to the current issue. TPBs #2 and #3 (Boiling Point and Tarnsfer of Power, respectively) are being shipped as we speak. Unfortunately for me, TPB #4 Abomination won't be out until September. In the mean time I've gotta try and collect all the issues I've missed. Oh if I only had a job.

The Abomination story was cool, and I could summarize it for you if you want to go ahead and start reading the new story arc that starts this issue.

Well, I know the jist of it. Operatives S-2 and S-3 free the Abomination and he and Hulk fight. That's the essential story, but I don't know any of the underlying details. If you feel like wrapping it up for me go right ahead. I'd appreciate it.

In the opening of the arc, Banner meets a woman in a diner, and develops a relationship with him. The woman turns out to be working for the Agency, and is actually Abomination's wife of old. She's out for revenge because Abomination used to beat her. Alos the identity of Mr. Blue is revealed.

Who wouldn't like Spider-man? He's pretty cool. I don't know much bout comic books, but how much is a 30th annersary Spiderman comic book worth. I know it isn't worth that much. It's just a tiny bit less then mint (did I spell that right?) condition.

Have you read the new arc yet? I wanna buy the first issue today, but I'm hoping it won't be too much of a waste. Of course, the issue's only $0.25, but still. Is it any good?

Got that issue like the day after release, it was pretty good. The Absorbing Man is a good villian, and this adds to him pretty well. I can't wait for the rest.

Bet you saw this one coming lol I use to collect Superman and Spiderman comics which most of you probably know Superman is my fav hero. I watch Smallville well while the season was still running its a really good show for being real people and all. And Spiderman movie was disappointing but still one of my fav super heros. :D and X-men 2 was way better than the first (the first sucked).
