And actually Bulma mentions in DBZ "I'm thinking of wishing myself to be younger" so Goku did it because Bulma wanted to. Plus Goku's like an enthusiastic kid so he thought it'd be fun for everyone else to try it. It actually makes sense if you don't immediately start looking for one mistake to say it's wrong. TRY ACTUALLY READING THE STORY!
